Exclusive Interview
Give us your bio: Freshly minted, Brique (pronounced “Brick”), is an all new group like no other we’ve seen before. California natives Brandon Yowakim, Keith Kelly and Sam Gerber produce a new and eccentric take on pop music. Effortlessly blending multiple genres, one will find elements of Gospel, Hip-Hop, Grunge and Rock scattered all over their debut, “The Album”. They are defined by obsessive invention and reinvention, though, one could easily be fooled by their carefree attitude. Stating in interviews they re-recorded their debut album 5 times over a period of 4 years, it’s plain to see their painstaking perfectionism throughout their debut. Fueled by Yowakim’s charismatic songwriting and vocals, Gerber’s virtuosity on keys and bass, and Kelly’s immaculate guitar work, Brique shines with characteristic brilliance.
Who are your top 5 influences? Beethoven, Yoko Ono, Biggie Smalls, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, in that order.

What helped you get into music? Well, we were going to get into real estate, but we couldn’t get the bank to give us a loan, so we bought guitars instead.
