BIO DeVontae Berry best known as Big Berry, he brings us intensity and fiery themes of strength, passion and partying, like no other. He sculpts them into pieces that are guided by real life experiences. Born and raised in Detroit, Berry now residing in the Dayton, OH area. He was first known as “The Locster”, the PAKKLIFE artist changed it about two years ago to (Big Berry). Berry released his debut project in March 2017 “My Dawgs”. In his music you can hear the stories that take your mind through a journey of his words, while contrasted with infectious beats and hooks that keep the listener coming back for more. Big Berry has only been doing music for 3 years now Berry’s music echoes influences from some of the greats, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Meek Mill, Kevin gates, Lil Wayne and more. For Berry, music flows through him from as a place to clear his head. It serves as a journal of all the interactions he’s had with people, moments he’s shared with them, and all the feelings associated with all the experiences life has thrown his way. Despite being a newcomer to the scene, Berry is no stranger to music. His Favorite uncle did music throughout his childhood that Definity influenced him to want to share his voice. Big Berry was the first in his family to graduate college and now plans on using his connections to future move in the music world.
Who are your top 5 influences? Gucci Mane, 50 Cent, Young Thug, Meek Mill, Kevin Gates.
When are your new projects coming out? Just released a new project “PAKK LIFE” February 28, 2020, its 12 bangers on there. I have a new video coming out March 7, 2020 on my birthday. And I’m going to drop a summer record thats fire.
What helped you get into music? Nobody personally said “hey you should do music”. Ive always been good at free styling and being creative. I been free styling my whole life, I love music and writing music also.
What is one thing you would tell your fans? “Don’t be surprised by the expected”. Meaning if you live your life a certain way and shooting for your personal achievements and you know you putting the work in necessary to make it happen, there’s a good chance that it’s going to happen. Celebrate, Reflect and plan more, because it’s a marathon and always keep your head up because nothings fair.
What are your biggest goals for 2020? I want to perform at a big showcase this summer. Also one of my goals is for my upcoming video to reach 10k in views. In addition staying positive, help people and stay true to myself.
