Give us your bio. I’m BlazeGervacio (otherwise referred to as Blaze) I’m a free time composer of electronic music, especially synthwave. Besides that, 2000’s electro and actual 80’s music is definitely something that I also love in general.

What inspires you the most when you create? I get inspiration from quite a lot of stuff that has a certain retro vibe to it. 80’s horror or sci-fi movies, indie games and sometimes other music genres that gives off an aesthetic feeling, 2000’s electro as an example.

Who are your top 5 influences? Carpenter Brut (One of the bigger hits in the synthwave community), Kavinsky, Red (the American Christian rock band), Hotline Miami (a top down shooter based in the 80’s), and all different kinds of 80’s pop. When are your new projects coming out? Hopefully, I’ll have something out in early 2020. I’m currently working on a chillwave EP. It’ll be out, when I feel like I’m done with it. I’m not going to put something out if I’m not satisfied with it.

What helped you get into music? Well, it was mainly because of Hotline Miami that I got into synthwave. After I played both games, I realized how much I actually enjoyed the music. I don’t know why, but I just find a certain comfort in 80’s related music itself. Sometimes I even wonder if it could have something to do with the fact that both my parents use to listen to “Take On Me by Aha” quite a lot, when I was an infant. Anyway, it basically just made me wanted to make this stuff myself.

What is one thing you would tell your fans? I know my fan base isn’t big, but I still appreciate the support a lot, so I would basically just like to thank them for giving my music a listen. I appreciate it a lot.

What are your biggest goals for 2020? I wouldn’t really say that I have any. Gain more followers, I guess? This music thing is just a hobby for me at the moment, but I take any golden opportunity, if I’m interested.
