What inspires you the most when you create? Honestly, it depends on my mood. I listen to music throughout the day, and if something gets stuck in my head then I go craft something up with a similar vibe. I’ve even tried to play around with EDM a little bit when everything I’m thinking of on the rap side of things is boring or too ordinary.
Who are your top 5 influences? Travis Scott, being my favorite artist in the game, is a big influence, with his dark sounding melodic trap. Along with him, Kanye really changed my music ear to start sampling instead of making my own melodies all the time. Metro, OG Parker, and especially Mike Dean with all his help on ASTROWORLD, round out the list.
When are your new projects coming out? At the moment I don’t have a set release date, but I’m working with people to get things done right now. Get the vocals, M&M, and they’ll be out soon.
What helped you get into music? I wrote my college essay on this not too long ago; I was at a Logic and G-Eazy concert a couple summers ago and really got into how Logic made his own beat on stage and rapped to it. The next day I opened up GarageBand and started trying to make my own stuff, obviously sounded awful from the plugins I was trying to use. One thing led to another, I ended up getting FL Studio, and since then I’ve been expanding on my own abilities exponentially.
What is one thing you would tell your fans? They deserve a huge thank you for riding with me. Especially my boys I always send my beats to, finished or not, for their endless support and encouragement. Besides the boys, I’m not exactly sure who my fans are, but whoever they are, thank you, and stick with me. Big things are on the way.
What are your biggest goals for 2019? It’s the end of 2018 and I’m seeing all these artists put out their Spotify 2018 Year in Review. I want that. I don’t want 2019 to be full of excuses, I want to see results this year. No more just “messing around” on my computer, this is for real.
