Tymbo Slyce

Exclusive Interview

What inspires you the most when you create? So many things, family, peers, life, and just that innate drive inside of me to give people that feeling of inspiration, love, and fun but I’d have to say my daughters for what life represents through their presence, my wife and her eternal sacrifices and gifts she’s given me through my daughters that I can never repay, and my grand mother. She was my biggest fan through it all. She listened to a FL Studio beat CD of mine circa 2005. She always dropped gems on me that I’m just grasping now. She’s the real MVP and I’ll always remember that…

Who are your top 5 influences? Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley, Timbaland, The Neptune’s, Kanye West. Their influence in music and the art they release is timeless and makes me wish I made it!… lol

When are your new projects coming out? Launching my YouTube page January 2019. I’m putting out a R&B Ep in February a beat tape Spring 2019 as well as other projects and collabs with artist and producers so look out for those. More shows and sets!!! I’ve evolved my live performances which will be an experience. (Follow me on all social media to stay informed, lol)

What helped you get into music? Church and Band were my earliest influences at 9-10. Played the set in church and everything percussion in school band, but I dont know if it was hearing my first sample flip on an MPC or hearing a kick with a snare sitting perfectly in the pocket. Marveling at a soulful baseline complemented by a grand, clean acoustic or electric guitar riding a symphonic pad in a bridge or chorus that just takes me away. I’ll never forget Mr. Scott and Mrs. Kenner too, they were the fire igniters lol…

What is one thing you would tell your fans? “Remembering that you’re going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.” -Steve Jobs You inspire me! Let me produce the soundtrack of your greatest dreams. I love you!…

What are your biggest goals for 2019? Becoming a better human being. I’m not perfect by any means but that still doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for perfection. Through music I just want to inspire, have fun, and love. Whether it be 10 people or 10 million if I can get through 2019 knowing that I’ve affected someone I’d be ecstatic…
