Exclusive Interview

What inspires you when you create? I’m inspired by the emotions that I’m dealing with that day, whether it be good or bad moods, it’s always honest – about the past I struggle with, or things I need to let go of.

Top 5 Influences? My biggest musical influences are Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Tupac, Ariana Grande, and Lil Wayne.

New Projects? I actually just released my new single, Dangerous, less than 24 hours ago. I’m really proud of this project. It started out as something completely different but ended up as one of the best tracks I’ve put out thus far. I’m constantly making music, so new material is to be expected. I’m constantly inspired by new beats and ways of making music. It has been my biggest way to release what I’ve been feeling and share my story with anyone who wants to listen.

What got you into music? Music has always been my refuge. Like many people, I grew up in an unsafe household. I was an orphan. The people who raised me were into drugs. I raised myself. Music raised me. Everything I am I owe to the artists I grew up listening to. I want to be that for other people. A refuge. A safe place to be themselves. Only we decide the kind of King we will be. I choose justice. I want to start a movement and bring our world forward. Music isn’t music for me. Music is me.

Anything to tell your fans? Be Your Fucking Self. Trust yourself, and don’t let anyone tell you what’s best for you. I don’t censor or create my music around criticism. So take criticism with a grain of salt. Take in what’s good for you and keep out what you feel is wrong. Because ultimately, you know yourself and your talent more than the next person. You know who you are, and that shouldn’t be compromised for plays. And most importantly, Thank You. I’m grateful to have one supporter, much less thousands. It’s a feeling like no other. Those people keep me going and creating. Having someone believe in me pushes me to be better and keep making music.

Biggest Goals for 2019? My biggest goal for 2019 is it keep improving, both as an artist and a human. I don’t base success off of followers or plays. Success is waking up every day and being happy with myself and having the ability to be thankful for the people who are in my life and the gifts God has given me. Putting those gifts to work regardless of anyone’s opinions is my destiny. I am the King.
