Exclusive Interview

What inspires you the most when you create? I’m lucky to live in a such a creative city, Brighton on the south coast of the UK. It has such a diverse culture and hosts a wide variety of festivals, music venues, galleries and of course, the beach! I spend a lot of time walking around the city looking at the various art, graffiti, meeting other artists and all sorts of interesting people. All of this and being able to see the horizon and watch the sunset has influenced the way I think about music and has such a positive effect on my creativity.

Who are your top 5 influences? I have such an eclectic taste in music, but off the top of my head… Grand Master Flash and the furious five Chopin Frankie Knuckles Trevor Horn (producer) Nile Rodgers

When are your new projects coming out? I was signed to a London dance label in 2017 and took a year out to build my new pre-production studio and run my design agency which really took off. I’ve been working on my new sound with hardware synthesizers, drum machines, sequencers and old tape machines etc to find something a bit more unique and interesting, mixing the old technology with new technologies. Once I’m happy, I’ll be working with some talented artists and djs in 2019.

What helped you get into music? My dad had a bunch of old tape machines and turntables back in the 80s and I used to hook it all up and make my own dubs from the instrumental parts of the records. As I got older I begged, borrowed and stole other equipment. I hassled a local recording studio to let me help out and after a while, started producing underground dance acts and programming all their synths and samplers.

What is one thing you would tell your fans? I don’t really see myself as an artist, more of a producer and prefer to take a back seat when it comes to promotional stuff. I’m always grateful for anyone who listens to or takes an interest in my music and would like to thank anyone who has taken the time to check it out.

What are your biggest goals for 2018? Finish the studio. Buy more synths. Get more tattoos. Get ready for 2019! 🙂
