He later went on to drop 4 more mixtapes, each one making him more and more of a force in the underground hip hop circuit. In 2016 on March 7th Takeez dropped his first debut singles titled “Stokely Carmichael” and “Lets Eat” via ITunes and google play. Top 5 Influences? My top five influences would have to be NAS outkast Marvin Gaye Prince Michael Jackson

New Projects? This year alone i Have a single dropping and I’m also planning on dropping my debut album this fall if everything goes right. Everything always depends on the music business and what loopholes it always seems to put me through when it comes time to drop a project. But the name of my new single will be “3 SEASONS” and the name of my debut album will be “Shorty Deuce”

What helped you get into music? The biggest thing that helped me get into music was the escape it gave me from a turbulent childhood. Losing my mother at 7 years old took a big toll on my life growing up….i just love where music takes me….whether it’s hip hop or classical….music is therapeutic G. It’s something i can ALWAYS hang my hat on to make me feel better….it’s an amazing outlet. I also had a uncle that is a Oklahoma jazz legend he is in the hall of fame there…and he was also a huge influence on me growing up….putting all types of different instruments in my hands and showing me different genres of music like Chick Corea and Coltrane all the way to muddy waters and nat King Cole….my dad also introduced me to hip hop when i was 11 years old….i started off as a singer so honestly i was more into soul….a lot of Sam Cook…Al Green…Marvin Gaye…Stevie wonder…prince…ETC….but yea he showed me the grandmaster flashes and Eric b and Rakim and all that….slick rick children’s story is like one of the FIRST hip hop songs i ever memorized from front to back non stop lol

Anything to tell your fans? It would be to hold me accountable…..keep me in my toes….keep me puttin out real shit. We ain’t sellin NUN but the music never our love peace and soul

Biggest Goals for 2018? My biggest goal for 2018 is to get J Cole’s attention… I just feel like i have the Dreamville sound i love that camps vibe and i LOVE the roster.

But no seriously my goal this year is to really branch out and be seen. I gotta put myself in the light this year…i gotta work harder…mark my words I’ll be signed to Dreamville….i need that
