What got you into music? My father introduced me to music he was a Studio musician he played with people like Stanley Turrentine Shirley Scott. His brother Billie Higgins was a professional jazz drummer. The first instrument I learned to play was a tenor sax I played at Whaley Junior High in Compton. When I got to high School I picked up the trumpet and would later join Dominguez High School’s marching band playing second trumpet. I come from a musical family my mother sang in the church choir first soprano as a praise and worship singer that’s where I got my chops from my mother.
