Give us Your Bio? My name is Skiran Brown, known Professionally as “SkyBreezy”. I was born in Toronto, Canada but raised in Brampton. My parents were born in Jamaica and I’ve been there multiple times. My bloodline originated from Waterhouse, Kingston. Alot of gun violence and fights. I’ve seen it, it’s actually crazy. My name is good in Waterhouse however so I have no issues. I have alot of people from Waterhouse supporting my music too. I’m currently 19 and been making music professionally for a year now.
Who are your top 5 influences? My Top 5 Influences would be Tommy Lee Sparta, Pressa, XXXTentacion, Killy and Young Thug. I like songs that sound different and unique. I don’t like boring shit. I also listened to alot of Post-Hardcore and EDM music in the past. To be honest, I am trying to mix genres together to create a unique sound that my fans can enjoy. I am also experimenting with my flow such as mixing rapping with singing or adding a little bit of screaming. All my influences received alot of hate but they don’t really give a fuck. That motivates me to keep doing what I do because I know there is ALWAYS someone out there that will like your art.
When are your new projects coming out? I drop 1-2 tracks per month. I currently finished my first playlist “Blacked Out” which has 14 tracks. I started my second playlist “XANADU” not too long ago. I want my fans to watch me build my playlists through the months. I want them to be part of the journey. My music is inspired heavily of the things I do actually in real life. Alot of people could relate to the things I say in my songs because this shit is real.
What helped you get into music? Ever since grade 6 I wanted to be a rapper, no lie. I was rap battling ever since I was a kid. People always told me , “yo this kid could actually become a rapper”. So I was like fuck it let’s become a rapper. I was dropping music in high school with a laptop mic and all I received was hate. After I graduated, My boy Rez got me into doing music seriously. He was dropping a few tracks with a producer named TwentySix and two of his boys. Eventually Rez introduced me to TwentySix, I dropped three tracks with Rez all produced by TwentySix. I was dropping singles too such as Rollin’ Thru The Night and Wild Up which is on Spotify/iTunes. I submitted music to rap forums and everyone loved my music, for the most part.
What is one thing you would tell your fans? Hate is motivation. Hate is a good thing. Don’t let anyone distract you. If you have a goal/dream, go for it. You could create your own reality. You’re stupid if you let someone stop you from accomplishing your own goals.
What are your biggest goals for 2018? My biggest goals for 2018 is to finish up Xanadu and drop a few music videos to express my art visually. These videos are going to be well planned out, no half-ass shit.
