BIO? Born in Maryland but finding his Hip-Hop roots in Wisconsin, the 25-year-old Genesis Renji has been compared to the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad, and Childish Gambino. As an unforgettable showman and writer, Renji has a boastful resume of performances, from opening for rap legends Jean Grae and Pharaoh Monche, to most recently winning US Bank’s #TourPossible contest which awarded him a record label consultation and $20,000 cash prize. His strong history of performing is paired with a healthy discography to match. Since his first release ‘A Shot of Gen’ (2011) to his most recent EP ‘I Might Be Home’ (2016), Renji has been consistently releasing music every year in the shapes of albums, mixtapes and EPs. New Projects? New project ‘LUCID’ is currently in the works. My cousin Pierre helped me get into music when I was 12/13. We used to freestyle on the porch when I went to his house.
