Exclusive Interview

Give us your bio

My name is Branden Ladwig, I’m a 19-year-old, independent hip-hop artist out of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and I go by B-Lad. I’ve been making music for around 2 years now, and it’s something I truly love to do. I dropped my first project, “No Chill” on SoundCloud back in February this year.

Who are your top 5 influences?

My top 5 influences musically are Logic, J. Cole, Post Malone, Lil Wayne, and Big Sean. All of these artists have inspired me to continue to make music, and have been a huge creative influence as well.

When are your new projects coming out?

My next project, “Suburb Stories” will be coming out later this summer. I’m super excited about this project because I have a lot of great songs on it, and it has a whole new vibe to it. On this project, I speak about my past, as well as issues that are important to me. This project will be my best work yet, so stay tuned for that.

What helped you get into music?

I used to freestyle with my friends all the time back in the day, and it was something that was fun and allowed me to come up with creative rhymes on the spot. Whenever I would freestyle, people would tell me that my rhymes were crazy and that I should start making songs, and that was that. I dropped my first song one year ago, and I’ve come a long way since then. I continue to progress and better myself, and I’m excited to share my music with everyone I can.

What is one thing you would tell your fans?

For anyone listening to my music, I just want to say that I truly appreciate you. I’m just someone that releases songs because it’s something I love doing, and it’s great to be able to share my thoughts and views with other people through music. I appreciate everyone that has shared my music and taken the time to listen to it. Thank you all for supporting me as I continue to grow.

What are your biggest goals for 2017?

My biggest goal for 2017 is to continue to grow and spread my music to more and more people. By the end of 2017, I hope to be able to play a few shows and share my music live. In addition, I want to work on more songs and another project to share with my listeners.
