Cyrus James

                                                          Exclusive Interview

Bio  My name is Maurice James. I was born in Rochester, NY on April 10th, 1996. I moved to the Bronx, NY when I was 4 years old. When I was 11 years old, I moved to Elmira, NY. I ended up returning to the Bronx when I was 19 years old. I got my name “Cyrus” from the movie “The Warriors”. Cyrus was from the Bronx as well & was the leader of the head gang in New York City. That’s Power right there. That’s what I wanted. So I took his name & formed “Tha OutCydaz”. I got this name from the book “Outsiders”. I read this book in the 8th grade & it caught my eye because the greasers were different minded people who wanted to be treated like the rich kids.

Top 5 influences? would have to be Jadakiss, Nas, Jay-Z, Redman & Ghostface.

Projects? My 1st project will be a double mixtape(Before In My Book Of Rhymes Pt. 1 & 2). Pt. 1 releasing Jan. 24th & Pt. 2 releasing Mid Feb. I would take 10-20 of my parents cds into my room & listen to music all day if I didn’t have school. I started doing that when I was around 4 or 5 years old. That’s what got me into music at a young age.

Anything to tell your fans? I would tell all of my fans to believe in yourself. Don’t let anybody tell you different. If I would of kept telling I was whack at rapping, I wouldn’t be here today. Chase your dreams.

Goals for 2017? My goal for 2017 is to bring New York back for good. Lets make history happen.
