Give us your bio, Who are your top 5 influences, When are your new projects coming out? What helped you get into music? What is one thing you would tell your fans? What are your biggest goals for 2016?
I’m Han Sino. I’m based in France near Paris. I do groovin’ Nu Jazz, psychedelic urban instrumental music, and sometimes, spoken word poetry, in French, on experimental hip hop or trip hop beatz. My sound is very original, creative, a bit hallucinatory, jazzy, groovy, experimental. I work with a sequencer (Reason), a keyboard, and sometimes with some traditional instruments for my adventurous projects… I also work with the Korg Volca series since a few time. I define myself as a poet. An urban poet. A modern poet. I don’t claim to be a rapper. I try to make poetry something kool and nice… My first spoken word project, “Raffinements”, was a bit weird… But thanks to its originality, and its cover art, it has been noticed by some websites specialized in international mixtapes. My best spoken word projects, for those who wants to discover my poetry, are “Poetik Art” and “Electro Emcee”. They are in free download with some English translations for English speaking people… On Poetik Art, you can find prodz by other musicians like Raisin Beatsman (a UK based DnB beatmaker) and GREENMAKER aka Kendy Kartel, (a French very prolific producer and rapper).
TOP 5 INFLUENCES
Gang Starr, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Madlib, Saul Williams etc…
WHEN ARE YOUR NEW PROJECT COMING OUT?
I’m cooking up some fresh groovin’ Nu Jazz opus for the next months.
Both will be released on Bandcamp, in free download. The first at the end of October or the beginning of November. The second at the end of the year or the beginning of 2017… It will be a mix between Jazz Funk, soulful 70’s sound and urban music/hip hop, like in my projects “Blending Sounds” and “Broken Songz”… Up to date sound for today’s Soul brothers and B Boyz….
I’m also thinking about making another Spoken Word opus, but with some Boom Bap instrumentals… We’ll see…
WHAT HELPED YOU TO GET INTO MUSIC?
I’ve lived my teen years in the 90’s. It was a golden age for hip hop and groove…
I began to be a kind of mellowman during this time… I first began to listen to hip hop, then I began to listen to Funk, Jazz Funk, and Free Jazz artists like John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Doug Carn etc… Free Jazz and its spiritual revolutionary sound totally changed my mind, and I began to look at the world differently… 1991 was a special year for hip hop in France. A lot of French hip hop new skool pionneers, came out at this time… I’m the older of the new generation in my family. But that’s my young cousins who made me start to work with a sequencer and a master keyboard… One of them had the project to create a label in Los Angeles. He was there for his studies. He has a home studio there…
Unfortunately, he died at 21… I’m a mellowman since a lot of years, but I do music since 10 years… only…! (2007)
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU WOULD TELL YOUR FAN?
Thanks to listen to my music! Don’t hesitate to spread the word if you like my sound… Most of my projects are in free download. Check out the videos on youtube, there are some fresh things… I’m working hard to propose something original. Be sure you won’t be deceived if you like creativity in music…
WHAT ARE YOUR BIGGEST GOALS FOR 2016?
The next step is to do some instrumental music performance. I work on it.
I want to do something fresh, and very different. I have to make my music known!
