“I think my passion for music is innate. My first favorite album, 12 Play by R. Kelly, came out a year before I was born and was the album that had me fall in love with music. I was born on October 20, 1994, in Queens, NY to Jeffrey and Suzette Galloway. I am the eldest Galloway brother – shout out to Malcolm and Isaiah. I began writing songs when I was 6 and started playing instruments when I was 8. Malcolm, Isaiah, and I once had dreams of entering the music industry as the next B2K under the moniker 3YM. I’d probably be more of an R&B artist if it weren’t for 50 Cent’s classic Get Rich Or Die Tryin album. From there my love for Hip-Hop was born and I aspired to learn more about the culture and history and become one of the great MCs. I actually still aspire to do that. I realized music is something I wanted to do for the rest of my life when I hosted a concert in my family room for my parents when I was 12 and acted as if I was on stage in front of millions. This is true stuff. I’ve been planning for something big my entire life and I still have a plethora of room to go. I am a son and brother because of who I am in Christ and my family first mentality. I am a student because I plan to constantly learn and grow even though I will be graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. However, I was destined to be an artist. I don’t think of things the same and I guarantee that I hear music differently than most of you reading this right now. God gave me the gift of art to be a voice of positive influence for all of the world. That is my end goal and I appreciate everyone who wants to help me accomplish it.”

Who are your top 5 influences

  1. Cole, Future, Drake, Kanye West, Isaiah Rashad

When are your new projects coming out?

New music will be out by the end of the year. Would love to release my first LP in 2017. Right now I’m focused on getting Joyride EP heard and building a following around the material I’ve already released. I’m also trying to focus heavily on production and graduating college.

What helped you get into music?

It’s hard to pinpoint why or when I fell in love with music because to this day my parents said I’ve been surrounded and in love with it as an infant. I’d say most likely my parents and my father specifically if I had to pinpoint it. He was always a writer and I think I got that love for writing from him. R&B was the first genre I fell in love with and some of the first songs I wrote as a young kid. My dad actually had music industry ties when he was a young adult just before my birthday so I think I’m really an extension of him in that aspect and I desire to take it far and get him back into the industry he first loved as well.

What is one thing you would tell your fans?

I love you. I want to do something special for everyone who’s stood by me since 3YM days. You know who you are and I thank you.

What are your biggest goals for 2016?

Joyride EP covered in some of my favorite blogs (Pigeons and Planes, 2DopeBoyz, Hot New Hip Hop).

One semester away from being the first in my house to graduate college

My Spotify single “Prayers” curated on a Discover Weekly Playlist
