Samuel Anderson, also known musically as Sam Scott, is a new and upcoming PBR&B trailblazing force in the music industry. A native of Birmingham, Alabama now residing in Los Angeles, California, Sam Scott is taking the music industry by storm linking soulful west-coast pop/rock acoustics with a modern day trap flow. Born February 1st, 1996, Sam Scott has always had a passion for music and with that passion he aims to bring an exclusive sound to the music industry combining an aged lyrical sound from iconic artists such as, Prince and Michael Jackson with modern day twist from artist like Miguel and Musiq Soulchild. A writer, singer and producer, Sam Scott does it all in his self-proclaimed “Nu Soul” genre. Just when you thought music and authentic artistry died, Sam Scott emerged! Sam Scott PBR&B Pioneer.

I consider my top 5 influences to be Michael Jackson, Prince, Erykah Badu, Miguel and Frank Ocean. When I create music, I like to take a few minutes or a few hours and just listen to a playlist consisting of not only just those 5 artists but as well as other artists that may have an impact on my vision. I am currently finishing up on two projects actually.

I have my debut mixtape, “Est. 1996” which I am planning on releasing sometime around mid November and my debut album that I’m not going to release until possibly next year. But I am very excited for this upcoming project because it displays contents of my self-proclaimed genre “Nu Soul”. Nu Soul style emerges from Alternative R&B and Trap. It’s traditions R&B influences, innovative and smooth – soulful lyrics on top of today’s modern trap vibe.

Honestly, me being raised up into a family of musicians really has had an impact on my involvement with music. Starting from my grandmother to my aunts to my mom and dad, singing has been apart of my family for the longest. Also, growing up, my dad was in a Christian hiphop group and I got to experience being around the music scene. And one more thing that helped me get into music was the day that my brother introduced me to the producing software, Fl Studio. That so far is the biggest moment that got me into music.

If I could say something to each and every last one of my fans, I would thank them for their support and loyalty. With out them, I wouldn’t be able to progress further into my career.

My biggest goals for 2016 is to continue establishing my name and my fanbase. Also, I’m looking to expand my marketing strategy and build up my connections within the industry
