The mellow vibe of “I Just Wanna” will get you laid back and coolin out. Senses blesses the track with dope flows throughout the entirety of the whole track with a great command of his voice. Go show some love! – Team
Give us your bio
My name is Connor Cheslock. I’m a 19 year old artist that goes by the name of “Senses”. I grew up on Long Island New York, and then moved around in Florida. I started writing raps when I was around 6-7. I would consistently write but never took it serious until I moved to Vero Beach, FL, and started working at Panera Bread. I met another artist there named Austin Hanlon (goes by the name A-Haze) We became friends and would mess around with freestyling. We ended up writing a few songs together, eventually ended up recording with Tyler Pag at Studio 7, in Vero Beach. We kept each other competitive, improving my rhyme-scheme and flow. Tyler was really helpful and encouraging, teaching me a lot about the art and how to develop my flow. I ended up investing in my own studio, so I can work at home constantly.
Who are your top 5 influences?
It’s really hard to pick just five artists that influence me, since every known artist has specific qualities that make them unique. There’s so much to learn from. The five who are the most influential would be J. Cole, Logic, Biggie, Drake and Joey Bada$$ (not in order)
When are your new projects coming out?
I have a few projects coming out. One of them is something that has never been done before and will be called “T.Y.O.S”, an acronym for “The Year Of Senses”, and a collaboration tape with artists A-Haze, DaveBSnappin, Young Polo, Johnny Round$, Sammy Smooth, and hopefully my boy Gemstar up in New York.
What helped you get into music?
When I was younger, my mother loved 50 Cent’s “The Massacre” album. She would play it around the house all the time. I loved the genre ever since, moving on to Eminem, Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z and many more. Once Drake’s debut mixtape came out, I heard about it from a friend, and have followed him to this day. I would say Drake got me to write, just because his cocky flow inspired me. Meeting Austin made me take rap seriously and attempting to take the next step in my career.
What is one thing you would tell your fans?
One thing I would like to tell my fans is, thank you so much for the support so far. We have a long way to go, but we’ll get there. I promise. You live one life(that we know of) Chase your dreams with everything you have. I dropped out of college to pursue this. It’s my burning passion. Listen to advice, think things completely through, but YOU make your own choices in life. Nobody can make them for you.
What are your biggest goals for 2016?
My biggest goal for 2016, is put my foot in the game. I want to learn as much as I possibly can and release my debut tape. I envision my future heavily, every single day, and although I have unrealistic expectations, I’m going in with a realistic mentality. Artists don’t just make one song and all of the sudden blow up. It’s a long grind to the top. Although… XXL Freshmen class of 2017 sounds pretty nice
