Repping the southern Hiphop sound, BGN brings a dope new sound to the game that comes across as very authentic and real. We love real music and I have nothing but love for these guys. Go show some love!
is a Houston rap group consisting of ThatBJP, Geronimo and King Nard. BGN
is not interested in the skinny jean, no content, music that has become mainstream. But is focused on bringing that real H-Town sound back to the forefront!

Just recently dropped a Mixtape called “Just Another Day In Houston Vol. 1”. We’re currently working on a full length BGN album, coming late this summer (2016). We’re also working on solo projects for Geronimo, King Nard and myself as well. Those will be available shortly after the group project.
What helped you get into music:
God! Everyone likes music and many would love to get into it, but you’ve really got to be built for this game (mentally anyway).
One thing to tell the fans:
Don’t get caught up in other people’s bullshit. You’ll probably meet thousands of people in your lifetime, mostly negative, that don’t give a damn about shit. Find out who your real people are and keep em close, they’re the only ones that really matter.
Goals for 2016:
I think it’s the same as most people. To be successful and wake people up to wtf really going on around them. If we can make some bread while doing it then we’ll take it!!
As far as my life story, we can do that another time. I want to tell you more about BGN.
BGN is a group, a movement, a family!! We’ve all been involved with music, for a long time, one way or another. We all came up in and around Houston also.
As for me (ThatBJP), I’m originally from the South East side of Houston (Gulfgate Area) while Geronimo and Nard came up on the North Side (Trinity Garden and Studewood).
Extremely high crime rates and family brought us all out to Spring (Just North of Greenspoint) only to find that it really don’t matter where you go, shit gets crazy Af everywhere.
I meet Geronimo through a mutual friend (what up Nico!!) who later introduced me to Nard. We made some music together and it was pretty dope. Started getting spins on Houstons 97.9fm The Box and 93.7fm The Beat, s/o to DJ Micheal Watts and OG Ron C! We weren’t a group at the time, just a some guys making some dope shit. It really wasn’t until the homie, the legendary, Mean Green put us on with Mike B (legendary H-Town producer) and they recommend that we focus on a group effort that the BGN movement started. We’ve been gaining momentum ever since!
As I said earlier we put together a Mixtape that’s getting a great response and even some Radio play, in and out of state. The album will be out very soon so in the mean time we just doing shows and doin’ what it do, staying busy!!
You can download the MixTape on SoundCloud and ReverbNation or stream it from DatPiff and Spinrilla. Or you can hit me on Twitter @bgn_htx or @thatbjp and I’ll be sure you get a copy!!
